GASTON BACHELARD

Hi! My name is Noah Klein and I am a Los Angeles based artist, organizer, and certified naturalist.
My interests as a community organizer tend to be in dialogue with histories of interdependent music + arts movements, creative placemaking, philosophies of ecomusicology, practices of emancipatory world building, decentralization, worker ownership, and exploring music as a vehicle for collective transcendence and liberation.
As a musician, I have released several albums centering field recordings, flute, and electronics with Moon Glyph, Leaving Records, Patient Sounds, Friends of Friends, my own Never Content imprint, and many others. My piece Arches (2024, Leaving Records) is the first music to be made with the seismic recordings of Arches and Buttes in Utah’s Castle Valley.
As a naturalist, I am one of a small handful of LA residents to thru hike the entire length of the Santa Monica Mountains. I also lead monthly hikes focused on socio-cultural local history as well as native plant identification and the traditional ecological knowledge of the Tongva whose lands we exist upon.
Whatever brought you here, thanks for stopping by.
